GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY

Some of the more eagle eyed readers will have noticed a small amendment on my profile information... go on i will give you a min....

Yup that is right I have been offered one of the three places available on the scenic construction course at RADA!!!!!

All very very exciting after an agonising month and a half of waiting for a response i finally got the phone call on the 22nd June 2011. EEEK i think it must have been the hat!

So yes this is where the really hard  work begins - not preparation to move to London but the fundraising. I am still in desperate need of financial help if i will be able to go and study for the year in London.
the course is a 4 term intensive programme with long days with regular 10pm finishes, this mean that unfortunately i will not have time for a part time job. the fees just under £6000 and the living expenses are estimated at £11000 for the duration of the course. London is not cheap!!!
As this is a post grad qualification there is minimal government help or bursaries that i can apply for.

i would really appreciate any support any one can offer be it monetary donation or suggestions on fundraising or grants/charities out there.

The reality has not really sunk in quite yet as i am still very busy with into the woods!( 1 week to go until the build!! ) but i am already mentally making a note of all the things i have to do.
I have a flat mate sorted the wonderful Miss G and she is being a huge help with her London contacts on the flat hunting side of things! Trying to get the balance of cheap, not in a zone that will cost us 3 grand a year in travel and somewhere we feel safe! It is a tall order!!!
Still have a lot of research and organisation to do as well as work on my mockney London accent (well i want to fit in don't it!)
I am very very excited about the course which will provide the following training in (in some cases build on my existing training in)
bench carpentry
metal work
welding (yey!)
budgeting,planning and project management
CAD - Ah autoCAD i use to hate you in uni but now i realise your not actually that tough !!
theatrical stage management
theatrical rigging
and tons more!

well this is more of a ramble than and coherent blog from a mixture of excitement and exhaustion!!

technically tonight is a night off - well it is a night of for my build team i will be checking on some rigging, picking up expenses cheques, cutting leaves, making vines and a filling in some counter sunk screws... it is all about the presentation guys!!
so yeah night off and if i am very lucky i will get around to starting a blog dedicated to the build !!
Thanks for reading every one
x
