Theatre, Facebook and time off

So it about half way through Deep  Blue sea. I have not really been there through the run. All the props were personal ones so I left it in the hands of stage manager with my phone number  in case of emergencies.
The review for the Nottingham evening post is up and as always Ghery pretty much outlines the plot and comments as little as possible on the performance. The set is mention however, the concept of the blitz parts of the set were not fully grasped.  It was not bomb damage!
So not the best review and not the worse, Although encountering reviews from Mr Ghery before it  seems that he is an amateur reviewer for and amateur company (even though It can be said that the only amateur thing about the Lace market theatre is that no one is paid!!).
*******I WILL MAKE IT CLEAR NOW THAT THIS IS MY PERSONAL  OPNION AND NOT THAT OF THE LACE MARKET THEATRE OR ANY OF ITS OTHER MEMBERS*******
That ought to cover my ass!
It has not really let up since Christmas, although that does seem like a life time ago! And does it make me sound out if I tut and mutter ‘pfft  feburary it was only Christmas last week!’…it probably does.
I have been working on a side project designing an educational room for a stately home, it is challenging and fun at the same time lots to do – it should be ready at the end of Feb and I will post Pics and reveal all.
Then after that I will be focusing purely on my portfolio for my RADA interview. I have not got a specific date as of yet but it could be any day now and to be honest I am bricking it a little just because I know that I am not as prepared as I should be.  Trying to find a fee weekend to go to my dad’s and use his workshop ( I say workshop garage with lots of tools in it!) has been a little bit of a challenge but I finally cracked and will be leaving Mr D at home pack my tools and tootle off hopefully to return with joint examples and an iPod dock!
Facebook deleted my account this week for no reason at all, ta few friends account also went ( we all seemed to be admins for the same page) so it has been a battle to try and get it back again, no news yet. It is a little od though how reliant we are on Facebook, I cannot help but think that I am missing out and not up to date, which is so very very sad It is also my paranoia setting in thinking that no one will bother to text me if there is something happening because you know everyone is on Facebook  so it does not cross peoples mind to actually text any more. Mark Zuckerberg you have become a millionaire and made us all lethargic…DAM YOU!!! You played us and moulded us into drones so we would walk into your trap.

Online presence is a peculiar one take for example this website http://theatricalia.com/ , it is a compilation of plays that the creator has gone to see and the full round up of cast and crews. My name pops up and a list of the shows I have put on at the lace market appear. It is all a little strange and I don’t quite know how I feel about a stranger putting this info  on their website…that said I am happy to write a blog about my life. It is a little bit of a conundrum especially when it comes to your career and what possible employers google-ing you and  In the Dark corners of the internet there could be more little snippet s of info that you would never know about.
How can you make a stand for your privacy in today’s world? You can avoid social networking site but people with accounts can still tag those (more often than not ) drunken photos of you  and even before that with a camera on every phone how can you stop people taking your picture? I would be interested how witness protection have dealt with it.
I personally HATE being tagged by other people on Facebook I find it a real invasion of privacy if I want to be tagged and to let everyone that is me and come and look at my profile I will do it. The Bull about it notifying you that your friends pictures are up….it take less time to put in your status that the pictures are up! Also checking into place why do you need to know if I am at a  certain coffee shop. If you are there as well you will see me…if you wanted to meet me for coffee you should have texted me and asked when I was free!
I guess in the end it is swings and roundabout I don’t  want my personal information such as my pin number all over the internet but I am happy to be a hypocrite and write a blog and tell you to follow me on twitter (nonaplicablefun) so you can read all about the things that I choose to tell you about myself and so you can view me as the person I want you to view me as!
I guess all you can do is set your privacy setting to high and either learn to blur your face or never get drunk again……
